A walk in the park...

Have you ever wondered what Arizona looks like in November? Well, here's a peek. Now that things have cooled off, I've started taking Matt and Buddy on a long walk every day. There's a beautiful park just down the street, so we'll often stroll over there. We usually go right after lunch, but yesterday SOMEONE dozed off in their stroller and then wouldn't take their afternoon nap. :S I wasn't taking any chances today, so it was mid-morning and 65 degrees (thus the fleece pjs). One thing that has fascinated me about Arizona is the difference in wildlife - particularly the birds. We've seen SO many different types just in our neighborhood! I wish I'd gotten a picture, but this summer there was a weird bird hanging around the "lake" right outside our apartment. He looked like a seagull with no neck and a creepy stare. I called him Kreatcher, after the disturbing house elf in the Harry Potter books. lol! Anyway, today we saw these beautiful black ducks with white beaks, a white crane, a goose and several pigeons.

There are houses along the other edge of the park. If you look closely, you can see little paddle boats. Wouldn't that be a blast?!?!

I know it's pretty far away, but I couldn't zoom any closer and I didn't want Buddy to scare it away.

Duck, duck, goose!

The desert is in bloom! When we moved here, I bought some flowers to put on our patio...which promptly DIED! I was at Home Depot a few weeks ago and learned that this is when you start planting your outdoor flowers and you can expect them to bloom until about JUNE!!! Now I have some beautiful geraniums and vinca on my patio. Hopefully, we can enjoy them and eat out on the patio during Rob's Thanksgiving break - we don't really now because he's always studying. Here are a few of the flowers I came across on our walk.

Well, I hope you've enjoyed a glimpse of the Autumn I'm enjoying. I'll try to get out more and take some more fun pictures to share...especially while most of you are being buried with snow. ;)
