A Gift for Soon-to-Be Little Niece

Last Thanksgiving, my brother Jay & his wife Asia announced they were expecting. Baby Sophia is due in August. Sunday, we had a family dinner and baby shower for her. Here is my contribution to the festivities (not pictured is the kick a$$ carrot cake Rob made for the party).

I figured that my success with Cambree's magnet board deserved an encore, so another magnet board it is. Pink and purple. :)

I painted the frame white, but the blotted on light and dark pink. Was a pretty cool effect.

Here, of course, are the matching magnets.

So excited and happy for Jay and Asia! Can't wait to meet "Zasha" (nickname for Sophia) in August!!!

At the Range

Rob & I visited the gun range Friday afternoon. It was Couples Night, which means 2 for 1. We decided to pay a visit with a few of the guns from our collection - a Glock, a Ruger and a Walther.

Rob, of course, is far more practiced and proficient than me.

This is his target...he aimed specifically for the head and the heart.

Here's my target...I was just aiming to hit it. Only missed once (my first shot - by his neck), so mission accomplished. :)

Then rounded out the evening with pizza and (appropriately) watching the movie Shooter (with Mark Wahlberg). Super-fun date night!

"Sucky" Weekend

Well, I finally gave in and bought a new vacuum. Much needed and I must say the new addition is pretty impressive. I'm sure this isn't a thrilling post for the readers, but it's pretty exciting for the writer!
