We're Back!

We got home yesterday afternoon from our Vegas Vacation. We had a lot of fun and searched out some hospitals that Rob could be interested in working at part-time (several of them are short-handed and will hire you to fly down for a few shifts each month - it pays quite well!). Anyway, we'll post some pictures shortly...

Up!

While in Logan, Rob & I had a new experience...3D movies! We saw Disney's UP, and it was really fun! If you haven't seen it, put it on your to-do-list.

Pooped Pup!

Poor Buddy was exhausted when he finally got to come home. He got a nice bath, but then passed out as soon as he had someone to cuddle with on the couch. Usually when the flash goes off, he opens his eyes and gets irritated. Not this time! His little paws even twitched like he was having dreams. How cute!!! We're so happy to be back home with our puppy!

Rob's Favorite Part of Our Anniversary Trip

One of the other guests at the hotel was driving this...

I wish you could hear how he purred at the sight.

Memory Lane...

As we quickly approach June, my thoughts travel back to 8 years ago when Rob & I were in the final stages of our wedding plans. Here are some highlights of our June 2001...

We were married Friday morning, June 15th, in the Logan Temple.

Our wedding was followed by a luncheon at the Bluebird Cafe. Rob's parents ate there the day they were married, as well, so it was a sentimental choice.

After our reception that evening, Rob had a limousine pick us up and take us to the Anniversary Inn in Salt Lake City. We stayed in the Lighthouse Suite to kickoff the theme he had planned our honeymoon around...the Oregon Coast.

Our favorite stop on our honeymoon was our stay in Oceanside, Oregon - right outside of Tillamook. Our hotel had a picture window with a view similar to this. It was so awesome to watch the sunset over the ocean.

Another fun stop along the way was in Seaside. We visited the aquarium there, and were able to feed the seals (well...technically Rob fed the seals because I wouldn't touch the cut up fish - YUCK!). Our favorite seal was a baby named Cosmo. He would do tricks for the treats, including coming up close and blowing raspberries at us. It was adorable!!!
I'll have to try scanning some of my wedding pictures to better share the memories of the day. I'm so excited to celebrate our 8th anniversary in a couple of weeks!

Pleasant Surprise!

It has been awfully crazy lately! Both Monica and I have been super busy. Monica was set apart Sunday as the 2nd Counselor in the Primary Presidency. She had her first meeting on Tuesday night. It started at 7 pm and she got home around 11:30 pm! Buddy and I were tired boys!

Monica wasn't feeling so good last weekend, so after work I stopped by WalMart to get her some stuff to help her feel better. It was pretty early in the morning, or late at night (depending on your perspective - late at night for me after working) and I saw this and thought that it was pretty funny! It reminded me of the Simpson's episode where Homer said "I am so Smart! SMRT! D'oH!

WalMart out did themselves on this one. I found it quite entertaining when I saw this. Take a look!

So, the pleasant surpise refers back to Monica's last post. As she mentioned I was lucky to win the logo contest for the USRC. What I wasn't told was that not only do I not have to pay for this year's membership to the AARC, but I don't have to pay for next year's USRC Conference. Together that saves us $100! Better in our wallet than theirs! You can see the updated website by going to: http://www.utahsrc.org/

It has been nice not having to be in school. I will be involved in some regards this summer, I have to complete several projects for my BS degree. Part of that includes teaching the WSU Davis Campus Respiratory Therapy Program in their Clinical Lab. Its once a week, so its not too bad. I will also be following our MD and participating in patient assessments. Between that, I am also getting my parent's house ready for siding, and putting in a sprinkler system at my sister's new house. Not to mention projects at our house, taking the CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) boards, and taking care of things that I haven't been able to do for the last year.

We will keep you posted on what's the latest and greatest!

So Proud!!!

The Utah Society for Respiratory Care has had the following logo for a VERY long time:

Apparently they had a contest for people to enter their designs for the new logo. Guess who won!!!

This is Rob's actual logo. I'm so proud! (And it saved us from having to pay our AARC membership dues for the year - WAHOO!)

WAY TO GO, HONEY!
