Current Projects!

Hey everyone, we have been extremely busy with house projects this summer. Our most recent endeavor has been siding the house. Monica's dad has been a great help to us with an extra hand and his expertise. Progress seems to be slow, but well worth the wait. We have made a lot of changes to house in the process. Some of these changes include moving the porch light from next to the door, to being two recessed lights within the porch itself. We also added porch lights on the sides of the garage door to update the look of the house. We changed the original metal porch posts to vinyl columns. Even more, we added electrical outlets to the exterior of the house. We are now getting close to having all the trim done which will allow us to complete the job with the actual siding. Something we both look forward to!

Here are some pictures to show some of the process. We will continue to add pictures as progress develops.

Our house before the maheim ensued! This was taken before Monica left for work.

This is how Monica found the house after that day at work. Buddy looks confused. At this portion of the project we found tons of spiders, wasps, and bugs. We removed the aluminum siding, masonite, and the ship-lap wood siding, leaving nothing on the garage, and an exterior drywall around the house.

This is after the garage was sheathed, and some of the polystyrene foam was put up.

Here you can see the new attic vents, address block, porch lights and complete foam.

These are the new vinyl columns. We spent all day on the 4th putting these in. We are both very pleased with the end result. It made our porch feel a lot bigger!

Notice the alien crop circles in the front lawn? Mysterious....

We will keep everyone up to date with our progress.
