Me? Crafty? What???

My friend Melissa's baby shower was today. A couple of weeks ago I decided to make an attempt at being crafty. I tinker around with making cards, but that's about the extent of my creativity. This was my first time ever using modge-podge and I think I'm a fan. Anyway, making a magnet board and matching magnets was a big step for me and I'm pretty proud I was successful.
Congrats, Melissa! Can't wait to meet Cambree in June!

Bountiful Baskets

When I teach New Employee Orientation, I explain to the newbies what a cooperative is. In my last class, there was a lady who started raving about a co-op called Bountiful Baskets. I decided to check it out, signing up that very day. I wasn't able to participate that week because they sell out SUPER FAST. However, I was home with my back problem this week and signed up as soon as it opened. You may wonder what the heck I'm talking about...well, let me tell you.

You get online and sign up to purchase a basket full of produce. It's $15 plus a $1.50 handling fee. You show up at a local pickup spot with something to carry your produce home in. When you go in, they have the produce divided into laundry baskets. You transfer the produce into whatever you brought to carry it home in, and that's it!

This week, my $16.50 bought me 2 heads of butter lettuce, 2 celery, 3 bags of radishes, 4 cucumbers, 1 bag of apples, 1 acorn squash, 1 cabbage, 2 things of asparagus, 1 carton of strawberries, 1 carton of blueberries, 6 kiwis and 8 bananas!
You can also pay a little extra and get whole grain bread, tortillas, etc., but those were sold out already when I got to that part. :(

WHAT A DEAL!!!

Ouch!

So I was leaning over the sink Sunday morning, brushing my teeth. When I went to stand up straight, I about keeled over! Something's funked up in my back!!! Been out of commission for 2 days now - it's getting ridiculous. Was able to get things loosened up a bit late morning, early afternoon, but as the evening progressed, things went right back downhill. Been trying to stretch, try icy hot, try heating pad, etc. with no luck. Am I really getting this old?

Happy National Peanut Butter Day!

So apparently today is National Peanut Butter Day. In honor of the blessed occasion, my boss brought in the "Jif-to-go" cups for everyone, along with celery sticks, apple slices and Ritz crackers. How much fun can you have?
She even brought enough for me to serve in my training class - it was a HIT!
So in honor of this sacred day, have a spoonful or a dip to celebrate! :)

After putting in 6 days at the gym last week, I was highly discouraged to be UP a pound! SO FRUSTRATING!!! Doesn't make me want to quit, just swear a whole bunch and break something. The whole time I was working out yesterday, my trainer kept trying to give me a "pep talk," which may, or may not, have made it even worse. Grrrrr!!!

Going for take 2 this week, but if I don't see positive results, I'm going to scream...just a forewarning.

Picture Perfect!

After YEARS of talking about how cool it would be to personalize my card, I finally did it!!! I put Buddy on Rob's card. My card has a picture I took up in Logan last summer. It's fun to be different. :)

Another year down...

Well, another birthday has come and gone. Yes, Melissa, this makes me an even number again ;P

Isn't it strange how as a child you get SO psyched up for your birthday that you're asking your Mom for weeks in advance, "Is it my birthday yet?", then as an adult it becomes so much more of a regular day? I did, however have wonderful friends and family who made the day special with gifts and laughs and warm wishes - thanks to all!

In the end, I don't feel any differently. Not any older or closer to death. I'm passed the point of earning special priviledges like later curfews, etc. (though I did have to renew my driver's license this year - NIGHTMARE!!!) - until 55...isn't that when you start getting senior citizen discounts?

I guess my wish for this year is to have more time with my hubby. He'll graduate this Spring and I can't wait!!! I look forward to more time with my family and living more healthily - mind & body!

Happy Birthday to me!
